She just was evaluated last night and became available to adopt today, 16th. No known health issues. 11/18 finally got a pic;  inquired to LoriP as to whether the dog qualifies to remain on the eskie chart 11/20 LoriP says YES this is an eski mix 11/21 Barbara writes: "Tia is still there, still no interest, but not in danger for now. My take: She is so anxious...and has apparently been on her own and now incarcerated without a caring human or love, for a while. Impounded at Vandenburg on 31 Oct, who knows how long she was roaming before that. (My editorializing...wish I was nearby, I'd take her on B<( feel so bad for her.) Phone system is down. 11/6 LoriP's email: "Michael can you concentrate on the 9 yr old female @ Riverside? 11/7 Phone 8:02. Phoned again 8:45. Operator gave me the brushoff, said she would email staff. 11/7 Phoned again 1pm:  On strayhold until Nov. 10th.  Due-out date Nov. 10th. Found in Riverside. 17 pounds.  Dental tartar. Cloudy eyes. Arthritic.  Behaved beautifully during medical exam.  Vet initially marked "vaginal prolapse" but then changed diagnosis to "vaginal hyperplasia".  Vet clipped and cleaned genital area.  Did medical treatment of the area.  Put a cone on her.  She is now on Amoxycillin.  Re hyperplasia, I believe the operator said some suturing was done, but I don't know if this means the dog's medical problem is completely solved, perhaps just mediated for now. 11/7 Michael reports: "It seems we both called on her. Sue said the dog is very well behaved and friendly. She is worried they won't be able to get her adopted due to her age, so it looks like we need a plan to rescue her.  I put an IP on her and Sue promised to call me before she would be PTS."  (This is a relief because the staffer Lorelei talked to earlier the same day had claimed that Riverside doesn't take IPs or phone numbers.) 11/12 Lori writes: "Wed Kathryn & I will try to pull the Riverside 9 yr. old girl and place her with an adopter/foster [Deni] - a family who we are currently working with placing an older eski to.  Home visit already completed. 11/14 evening - listing is down - I hope this is just a database reload...? 11/15 LoriP says: "Spoke with Sue - this girl is still there.  She will pull and have her spayed and call me for pick up sometime between tomorrow and next Wed." 11/18 Upcoming fostermom Deni has asked that this dog be called Twinkie. 11/23 Will be pulled this week and handed off to foster Deni 11/26 now at Deni's 11/17 Deni says her husband has fallen in love with "Twinkie"!  This will be switched from a foster to an adoption.

Seal Beach shelter is a NOKILL shelter and Vicki, whom I spoke with, doesn't think they have ever had an association with petharbor. Snowy arrived at the shelter Sept 30 and has had a surgical repair (at the shelter) of left hind leg injury, still about a week from complete healing and recovery time for his medical release. But there has been much interest in him, and indeed he now is just waiting to go to his adoptive home upon vet's OK."

Good with other dogs, Casper is a gentle guy who loves belly rubs and hanging out with people. All were surrendered by same owner who went to a retirement home and couldn't keep. Available only to rescue. Had a review date of Nov 4th." 11/15 LoriP writes: "I called the shelter today and it seems because they are shorthanded the only way to inquire about any of their shelter dogs is to send them an email which will be responded to within 24 hrs.  Apparently this is a new procedure ... I sent an email today to place a hold on the 4 eski mixes and am waiting for response.  Valerie will pick up when the shelter notifies us they can be picked up in the meantime according to their instructions dogs with rescue hold emails will not be PTS until the shelter has had contact with the rescue to arrange pick up. 11/17 They have changed the ages on the 3 girls. Initially they labeled them all 1 year old. Now it's all over the map. 11/18 Two of these dogs are pregnant.  LoriP got the Kern 4 pulled, one had her puppies (litter of 6) in the shelter just before the pull.  All 6 of those puppies died (this shelter environment seems to kill off the frail, weak and small through rampant transmittable diseases).  Another litter to come soon.  Apparently these 4 were the last of like, 14 or so that were all dumped at the shelter on the same day; other rescues had taken all the others previously. 1/8/2012 Two of these dogs have been named LILY and SAVANNAH and are available for adoption

Chipin donations were requested by info@pawprotectors.org , they requested $2000 but only received $325 :( I think this was one of the pups

They said call tomorrow (Oct 28) to get results of the temp test. 10/28 report: Just got the review from Baldwin Park staff for this guy: He's labeled a Pom/Chi mix, is small and unlikely to have any Eskie in him, but we have been charting him just in case. Still no word on who he bit or when exactly.  All they know is he bit someone on the same date that he was turned in at the shelter by the Fire Dept.  Anyway, the shelter just did a temp test on him.  Results: He passed, though not with flying colors. He engaged in treat guarding, so shelter will not adopt him to any household that has kids 12 or under. He scored low on the dog-to-dog test, because although he behaves acceptably around large dogs (bigger than him), he growls at smaller dogs. He's already caught kennel cough, so they're starting him on meds today. For anyone to adopt him they would have to sign a waiver (because of the bite history). He's now available.  My chart says his Due Out date was today but today's staffer told me his Due Out date is October 31.  Staffer says nobody except us has inquired about him nor shown any interest.  She believes he will be euth'd very soon. 11/12 I can't find this dog on their official FB album, we need to call and re-check his status 11/14 adopted to public!!!
